From Nervo.tv: In our first collaboration with Arnold Worldwide, Nervo has created this High-Definition spot for TIMEX featuring the new Ironman IControl watch for Ipod.
The spot, featuring a graphic runner, the watch itself and an iPod, was visually sewn together by a graphic sound wave and light effects that crossed the whole picture from beginning to end.
The song "Clear Island" by band "Liars" was edited by Nervo's Music Director Darrin Wiener who has also created all of the sound effects. Music played a big role in this project as all of the animated elements, including the runner's movements, had to follow the pace and structure of the song. Because of this it was very helpful to have an in-house musician who we could closely collaborate with as all of the different parts of the spot were being roughed into an animatic.
At the end of the spot, below the TIMEX logo, we've incorporated a short but special live-action element. We utilized a pool of magnetically charged ferrofluid to represent the energy of the run and the song accumulated at the end.

Well, I will admit I did not expect this reaction. This is our first attempt at a contest and we had hitches along the way. I totally understand any anger about this. It seemed at first there were so few entries, I was concerned we would have had 2 maybe three entries. We then discovered many of you were having trouble uploading, which obviously was the cause of the lite response. I am actually happy to see that the demand is there, and I will do this again with everything we have learned. In response to those of you that diligently worked and had problems please email me to john@redgiantsoftware.com and I will set you up with the equivalent to the runner up prize. Lets just say that I looked at every single submission, many times over actually. I have learned in a subjective contest such as this there is bound to be controversy if not everything goes according to plan. My Tool Farm is a great resource, but we tried to do something from its very first day and ironing out the bugs is no fault of any of yours, so for that I apologize. Completely understand the upset guy (dbert) from the other video page -- this kind of upsets me for a couple reasons as well. First, I worked my tail off in order to get my video posted by the due date. (You know that, Michele) I didn't just give up because it was difficult. I recompressed, and recompressed until I had one that worked. It took me three days! Second, and most importantly, the rules specifically state that judging will be a combination of 50% voting and 50% Judging. These two videos (which ARE awesome) were NOT posted in time for judging, and were not given the chance to even be rated. They passed "go" AND collected $200. This hardly seems fair to those up us who followed the rules, were voted on, AND worked to get them posted in time. Just by reading your rules about the 50/50, I don't see how you awarded these two without any input from the community at all. Sorry to sound bitter, but this just isn't right.
